Enyas anyone?

So I picked up a couple of Enyas on RCC recently.
First was a very nice model 5224 .35 with a round intake, someone in the past had trouble threading one carb bolt and it was cross threaded, no worries the carb was coming out anyways. Didn't try to run it with the carb, instead I installed a venturi and needle, on the test stand and a 10x6 prop it runs sweet.
Second is a enya 6001 .45 with a round intake, I believe this makes it a 45BB?
This one is not so nice completely worn out wrist pin and pitted cylinder, on the plus side the bearings are very good and I have found a store on ebay that stocks the parts. With a little work it will be a great runner.
I still need to order parts for the 45 so if any one has comments or advice on this engine please feel free to post here.
I have a SIG Mustang that I think will be great with the 45.

Re: Enyas anyone?

A lot of people just deal direct with Ken Enya in Japan. Apparently he is great to deal with and still carries parts from decades ago. A search will find something I would guess. All I could find is this. http://www.enya-engine.com/ You may want to try Richmond Hobbies if they are still around.

Re: Enyas anyone?

I had a few of those old Enya 45s laying around, gave one away, can't find the rest right now, most were parts but there is a guy selling one on here.. check it out, Cliff Stacey. bet you could make a good running engine with the extra one..

Re: Enyas anyone?

I have a sweet little vintage Enya here in my collection.
She's a .46 4C I found neglected in someone else's collection.
It was very tight when I rescued it, but with some TLC and four new bearings ,
She came to life once again !

I also have original box, nomenclature, Enya tools and some neat spare parts including head shim, and a little flywheel...
I'm almost ashamed to say what I payed for it.

Chris

Re: Enyas anyone?

Very nice Chris.
Nice to see Enya still supporting the control line flyers, They stock venturis and needles.
And will soon be releasing this bad boy!
