So last night I decided to make a test bed for the new p200 I picked up for the upcoming F-16. I couldn't wait till next year to hear the roar so I i fired it up.

And to be expected it fired right up with out even a cough or stumble. I was running up and then saw that it is apparent this thing makes quite a bit of power. See the video. .

Over all in very happy with the engine. Throttle response was actually better than I was expecting. And fuel consumption wasn't "terrible" haha. I mean Ya it's going to use quite a bit of fuel at 100% throttle. But thinking about it. It might end up being better than the 160 I was going to put in the plane, because I won't have to be flying it at 75-100% throttle all the time.

The F-16 is going to haul with this engine.

Go Propless!

Re: P200 test. Yep it should work well.

LOL enough power to fly a picnic table. That turbine and a nice 100mm pipe should have that F16 just ballistic. I fly mine at 1/2 most of the time so the fuel consumption is not far off a 140 being pushed. With 4.5l I have flight times of about 8 minutes with about .5 to 1l left.

Just a word of caution. I set my timers for an average flight which includes a 50% use of full power. If you go out and lean on it with a lot of full throttle time it really does use fuel fast! So my point being that with a big turbine your fuel use is heavily dictated by the power demand.

That sure will be a fun F16. Can't wait to see it in action.
Thrust is like money...you know how much you need?...just a bit more than you have.
