Re: Frog 500

Used to have a Frog 50 diesel way back when. Great little engine with lots of miles on it. Kicked myself for selling it.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.

Re: Frog 500

Hi Bill;
I flew my first control line flight with a Frog 500 (.29). After about five flights it would not start. After a lot of frustration I found the crankshaft bearing sleeve had turned in the crank case. I re-aligned it drilled a hole through both and attached a an "L" shaped piece of piano wire to prevent the sleeve from turning. The next flight my brother crashed the airplane. That was about 1948.

Re: Frog 500

I had 3 Frog engines,3.5cc and 5.0cc,but they were diesels,don't remember the glow engine,a long,long time ago though.My first rc plane was a mini super 4 ft version of the super 60,3 channel proportional radio no throttle as it had an ED Racer 2.5 cc diesel up front.No ailerons on this plane.Went into three ever increasing loops,until it found the only object in the field,a cattle drinking trough. No cows in the field.
