If that was a recent addition. The rings will require some time to wear into the cylinder and seat properly. You will probably notice the engine run a little richer every couple of flights as the rings seat.
I did the ring before it saw a drop of fuel. I've worked on lots of larger engines in cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles so in my mind if you are going to put a better ring in you might as well do it while the cylinder has the factory hone.

In your experience how long should it take before the ring is fully seated? I know when I was into motorcycles it was common to break them in on the dyno in minutes, not hours. Obviously these are much different but I have probably close to 5 hours on the engine now, is it reasonable to expect any appreciable increase in compression going forward?

Electric flying is pretty much seeing how close to a dead short you can run without setting it on fire.

Re: Gas Needle Tuning Order

Cory, it sounds like you are well on your way. Tune it to be reliable, always reliable. If throttle response is good, top and bottom sound o.k. Then live through the mid-range burble (unless it hesitates, or loads up). About the best "tuning over the phone" I can help you with. If you have a respected tuner locally, go with it.
Hope this helps.
