Is everyone aware that IMAC Membership Dues is increasing as of January 1st, 2015.

From the IMAC website..........

IMAC dues to increase Jan 1, 2015
The Board of Directors has approved an increase in the annual IMAC membership dues from $20 to $40 effective January 1, 2015. This is the first dues increase in more than 10 years and will be used to significantly improve IMAC. Changes in the coming years will include:

complete website redesign with additional functionality
elimination of the IRPS fee for contests
better support for the RC Scale Aerobatics Nationals (NATS)
future National Judging Schools
The Board of Directors is doing its utmost to control costs while improving the infrastructure necessary to grow and improve IMAC, and thanks all the members for their continuing support.
Long overdue.... look what happened to IMAA with their low membership fees.

Re: IMAC Membership Fee Increase for 2015

For sure long overdue, especially if they are able to use the funds to improve the website. Also looks like they plan to do away with collecting the pilots points funds at contests.

$20 was way too cheap considering we get the annual knowns and the unknowns every week of the summer to support contests. For sure $40 is still a bargain for what many of us get out of this.

Since I fly in 4-5 contests a year this is dirt cheap. May be steep for someone who flies one contest in a summer but you likely paid more for the last servo you bought or paid for the gas driving to the contest.

They have some big plans underway what with a new web site, increased judging seminars and continuing Worlds so the dues are reasonable and probably overdue. I like that as CD's we wont have to collect the pilot fees anymore! More money in the hosting club's coffers which will be incentive to host bigger contests

Jim got it right, IMAA is gone because of two things, fees too little for the expenses on hand AND events not requiring membership, Russian roulette with six bullets in the revolver.

Membership is peanuts cheap. Good to hear they have big plans, revamping a website is not cheap. No problems here at all.
