DemonDriver aka Christopher here, I wanted to share with my Canadian friends, In 1949 Our Friends to the north designed and Built the 1st Jet Powered civil airliner in North American and I have always wanted to build One from my RC airliner collection. I will actually be building 2 C-102's One In Canadian Pacific Colors and One in a Wardair Livery, Kinda like a "what if" fantasy Liveries.

The Dimensions are as follows:

Wingspan 114"
Length 98"
Fuse Width 11.25"

Powered by 4 70mm EDFs
Servoless Retracts
flying weight 8-10Lbs

Here are some Pics of my rough Draft Hand-drawn C-102 plans, Once the plans have been perfected and Hot-wire stencils have been made preliminary construction will begin in 2-3 months.

Until construction begins please feel free to make suggestions or just share Thoughts or ideas!

Re: RC C-102 Avro JetLiner Build!

These WardAir babes would Have Looked good In the C102!

The JetLiner would have entered service in 55 or 56 and probably would have operated into the early to mid 70's.

. . . . .Ohh what could have been!

Hello Chris:

Best of luck with your project. I attend the Joe Nall each year in your neck of the woods. Any chance that one of your projects might show up at this event next year?

Peter

Re: RC C-102 Avro JetLiner Build!

Here is a rendition I found of a C102 In 1960's Canadian Pacific Colors!

I'm gonna have to do The late 1960's early 70's Wardair livery myself

Re: RC C-102 Avro JetLiner Build!

I have a question to ask my great Canadian friends here on RCC. . . . Had Avro-Canada gone ahead full steam with the C102 and put it into mass production and allowed Boeing & or Douglas to also build them under license in the states. . . Which Canadian air carriers would have bought them? Which U.S carriers? And European airlines? The C102 would have had the Comet and TU-104 to compete with in the mid 1950's . . . The C102 being the smallest of the three.

what's your opinion?
