Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

Fuse is fun, progresses rather quickly. Most fun I've had so far on mine, is the horner wing tips, one done, and damned if it didn't turn out really nice, and no real issues. Now something simple will turn into a nightmare! lol Great to see all the progress, keep us posted.

What technique did you use to make the wing tips match?

Finally got around to rounding off the bottom edges of the fuselage using a router with the 3/4" radius round bit.

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

After covering the edges of the elevator and the back of the horizontal stabilizer with aluminum color monokote, it was time to epoxy the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage.

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

Started to fill in some fuselage around the back end behind the horizontal stab. Rounded bottom from behind the stab to the back of fuse using the router again followed by some sanding.

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

Hey Jim, sorry I didn't notice your question earlier. The plans came with cross-section views of the tips, at several points. I cut them out, glued to a piece of Bristol board, and then drew a box around the outsides, cut everything out, giving me a template for the outside and inside shapes at those points. A good eyeball for fairness helps too! Have to go over your latest shots, but looks like some serious progress being made! Keep it up!

Re: My A10 Scratch Build 1/7 EDF

I was wondering why you were going through so much effort with a router to round the corners vs using a sanding block. I guess I didn't realize how big this thing is LOL. Looking good.
