I'm agree with the tightening after warm. Haven't had a bolt loosen after doing that yet.

Re: muffler gaskets use them or not?

I use the supplied paper gasket; if there's trouble with it I switch to Permatex Ultra Copper. I use Nord-Lock washers on all my muffler bolts. They never come loose.

I also used Permatex copper filmed onto a stock gasket, dried before installation, then torqued with nordlocks, but still lost the muffler in flight because I didn't retorque after heat-cycling the engine. I'll never do that again.

Re: muffler gaskets use them or not?

I use gasket maker and wire lock the bolts . If the bolts are in a deep recess I use longer socket cap screws and cross drill the heads for the wire . I machine a tube "washer " to put the heads out where I can lock them with locking wire as in full size practice .The wire is twisted and in an "S" shape so if the bolt tries to loosen it pulls the wire tighter .Have done this for many tears from the old shaky Quadra 50s and 100s to current DAs and have never had one loosen .
