Just received delivery of the FMS P51 Mustang V8, I notice that the horizontal and vertical stabilizers are held in place with screws, has anyone used epoxy instead of screws

Re: FMS Mustang

I had one of the V8 P51's but sold it before I was able to fly it. My though being that if you damage the tail you can unbolt it and replace it much easier than if it was glued. John
If I could fit in my plane I would

Re: FMS Mustang

I screwed and glued both on my V8 BBD. I found there was too much "flex" for my liking in the tail when working the recommended throws. They really should have dual rods controlling the hor. stabilizer IMO.

I had to reduce the total throw as it would stall out when doing a loop. Now this problem may be a result of mine being a heavy bird. I am flying with a 4S 4,000 mAh battery pack AND a Mr RC Sound module in it with the dual TTC's.

Keep an eye on your landing gear hardware as well (use loctite) and check them after every couple of flights.
