My 8 year old has been asking about my stash of old R/C gear, ever since his Walmart R/C truck died on the second day of use.
When my eldest lost interest, I set aside a pair of heavily upgraded Kyoshyo mini Inferno 4WD buggies and a Losin Mini LST for a rainy day.
Knowing that the Kyoshyos were pretty twitchy and fragile, I decided to resurrect the Losi. Everything was going fine, until I discovered that the Losi transmitter had bit the bullet.
I wasn't able to find a replacement for a reasonable price, and wasn't sure I wanted to invest in a new radio for such a relic.
In the end, I ordered a Dromida MT4.18 and some durability upgrades online. Everything should be here by the end of the week.
I plan to tear it down, break in the motor, free up the drivetrain and do a full prep before handing it over to it's new owner.
Meanwhile, we visited Amazing Hobbies here in London this afternoon. We lucked out, as the owner was busy loading up for a move into new digs, and what should he have in the remaining stacks of misfit gear, but a brand new, still in box 27Mhz Losi MLST transmitter?
It looks like Mikey and I will be experimenting tomorrow, to see if we can set it up to be manageable for him. I see some good times ahead!
