I recently took off the Monokote from my 25++ year old Chipmunk to convert it to Electric. To remove the covering, I just used a heat gun and softened the covering and peeled it carefully. The old dried up monokote came up pretty good, that method got about 99 percent of the stuff off.
For the remainder, I heated up the stuff that was stuck on, then quickly put packaging tape on, and rubbed it against the spot, then just lifted it off as the tape cooled down.
Worked like a charm.
Not just any old Joe.. LOL
