Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

I decided in the end to finally go with the DLE85......... Stock exhaust with a few mods will exit the fuse in the scale location. Dummy engine will conceal the engine completely. The insides of the cowl have been ducted to give more than adequate cooling.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Scott, please ignore Dave and carry on with this thread! I want to see this one through to completion. I've been enjoying the build and would love to see the thread properly capped off with some video of the maiden this spring.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Ok.....back by popular demand!!! Thanks for the support RCC members!!

Spent the weekend looking after the 2 year old sick and cranky male heir to my throne, no sleep....NOT FUN!!! I did manage to get the top wing center section all silver soldered up and aligned correctly!!!....It did take a few tries, but in the end the correct 2 degrees of positive incidence was achieved. This part of the build was critical. It will ensure that the model will have the same stall characteristics of the full size DVII. I understand that the full size aircraft actually almost hovered on the stall and that the German pilots used this to their tactical advantage.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

All of the cabane struts have now been made and the bass wood pieces have been added. I will smooth these out with fiberglass filler and then paint them. I have also finished the center wing section sheeting now that the blind nuts have permanently been installed. This was the last construction section!!!! on to covering and finish detail!!!
