Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

I finished all the tail and upper wing rib stitching this weekend. I also cover the bottom of the lower wings with the light colour Lozengetex, what a huge difference between top and bottom. I fiber glassed the bottom sheeting on the fuse and got it sanded and ready for covering.

Scott

I also to a quick picture of my hobby room........Red pieces every where!

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Started the last bit of rib stitching on the bottom wings. The Fokker built DVII's used same colour lozenge for the rib tapes. Albatros built DVII's used pink or blue rib tapes. Clearly you can see the Udet DVII was Fokker built. Once the rib stitching was done I gave the whole wing a lite brushing with Minwax Polycrylic. This seals the whole wing and darkened the colours just a bit, it was still wet when I took the picture and has since turned a dull satin.....PERFECT!! I was able to take advantage of the warm weather and prime the fuse in the garage.

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Got all of the fuselage covered and started the detail work on the cowl. I need the muffler to be able to make the cut out, so until it arrives I will continue on the little detail pieces. Covering the fuse didn't take as long as I thought......2 hours ......

Re: B-USA 1/3 Fokker DVII

Looks excellent Scott! With 3 months to spare perhaps a WW1 monoplane is in order.
