Here is a common one ; the jet guys use and inexpensive. Regular price
and available at Princess Auto and maybe other places at $50 but paid $25 for mine on sale. Good for 300 lbs so they claim, but our aircraft are no where near that weight. Can also be easily disassembled. Used for setting auto/truck windshields on prior to installation as most are now glued into the vehicle frame.

Re: Buying airplane stands in Canada ?

That's a nice stand Len. I've been watching for one of those (and waiting for a Princess Auto to come my way). For now I use folding saw horses at field (and for glow I'm using the wooden stand that Roscoe posted on page 1.
The new steel stand is for the workshop. Great for moving a plane and working on it from both sides.

Re: Buying airplane stands in Canada ?

Here is my other use for the stand when I am removing wheels and installing float on the same Beaver. Made up a winch with a two way switch to raise and lower the Beaver so a one man operation for the install or remove the floats.
Pictures sort of give you the drift. For retract aircraft it allows good spacing
to actuate and cycle the gear. The spacing is also adjustable.

Have attached the two way switch and battery box onto the two pieces of square tubing.
