The one I showed in the pic above has another rubber like that on the inside of the firewall. Also the rubber has a shoulder where it goes through the firewall, so the hole in the firewall has about a 3/4 in. hole in it. The other rubbers you mention are called Lord mounts where the bolt is fixed to a large washer that is vulcanized to the rubber. Many lawn mower and garden tractor motors that I used to work on used these. Sometimes they did break from the vibration and had to be replaced.

It's the torsional impulses from the ignition that cause the vibration, not the prop.
Tried for my kamikazi pilots licence. Flunked the test.
