I posted this on another forum but had to share it here as well.
I just picked up a copy of MAN from 1940 (June edition, 11th year of publication) that was at an LHS in my area. Believe it or not, there were ads even back then for all kinds of things. Sure there were a bit more articles but the ads were worth the mag and are plentiful.
'Air-screw' props (any chance a predecessor of master air screw?)
Any prop $0.25 from 8" to 15"
3 full sized plans included, information from the AMA, detailed instructions on how to build a "parachute" for your model when it ran out of gas.
The super cyclone engine 10cc for $13.00 If you want to get the "inverted" version it's $0.50 more
and next month Comet will announce Carl Goldberg's latest and greatest achievement!!!! And Testors will have a sensational announcement on model airplane cement!! Darn, I hope I can find the July edition!
The gentleman who had subscribed to it was AMA # 9990 in Texas.
This has been by far the best edition I've read in awhile
