Looks like exercise getting to the top! It must take a good heave with a bigger ship to get a dive going to get the cycle started. I havent found footage of a DS launch yet but am really curious how critical it is.

You launch on the front side of the slope like any regular flight then fly to the back side to start ds'n.

Tony,

Can you post directions to the Cache Creek, Ashcroft, and Princeton Sites.

I live in Richmond, B.C., and spend a fair amount of my free time traveling in our motorhome looking for suitable slope soaring sites to enjoy.

Any info about slope soaring sites in B.C. would be most encouraging.

Cheers,

Marcus

Hi Marcus,

There are many sites in the Ashcroft, Kamloops, Princeton and Penticton area. I recently got an email from a friend on a very sweet site in the Okanagan.

I will forward the email and photos' to you (after I ask for an okay from my friend of course) in a day or two.

Also I will put something together as an answer to your PM.

There is a site near Ashcroft that is the equal to anything in Eastern Washington including Eagle Butte, it just does not have the high number of very windy days that Eagle gets but when it works it is magnificient.

So.... I guess that nobody is willing to give a fellow B.C. sailplane pilot a helping hand and post some simple directions to B.C. slope soaring sites.

Oh well.

Cheers, (I guess)

Phone The locals

Marc,

Try looking up the local contact person on the MAAC site and phoning them, there are a signifigant number of flyers who don't compute! This is especially the case among those who are too busy building and flying on regular basis to log on.
