I ordered an Electric 1.7m glider from the USA. I think it was something like $130 US but the only way they would send it was by UPS. So the Parcel eventually arrives after sitting in Vancouver for three days doing nothing and the delivery guy said, "Thats 60 bucks." I replied with a question asking what the $60 was for..."Broker fees!" Never, never have any thing sent by Unified propostarous Surcharges!!

I live 100 kms from International Falls Minnesota so I just have stuff mailed there and go pick it up. If the Customs people are in a good mood or your purchase is under 20 -25$ (hard to do in RC) they won't charge anything. Otherwise it's GST & PST. I always try to buy Canadian but I don't have a LHS and half the time Great Hobbies is out of stock so if I'm in a hurry Tower Hobbies get's the order and they give great service. I have had stuff mailed direct to my local Post Office and it is by far the best method other than driving across the border. UPS is a rip-off.
Experience is the name we give to our mistakes.

I just received a package today from UPS. The value was $20. I had paid the the shipper $11 for shipping. UPS put an additional $21.28 Import Charge on the item... I paid $32.28 for a $20 item..They are ripping people off!!!!!!!
