March bloody March

I hate March.......The weather cant make up its mind what season it is,and if it isnt snowing its dirty and wet with a winters accumulation of mud, sand, and salt. Its too early for flying in our part of the world and those long calm June evenings are too far away.
Its too busy on the modeling side too.......Our club does a large display all month in the foyer of our city hall. Then its the AGM which has not been a pleasant experience the last few years and all the bull leading up to and following the actual meeting is even less so.
Locally there are two club meetings and then our major mall show on the last Saturday of the month, which is where I spent today.
Our local major mall,an Algoma Central corp property works with us installing 30 tables, hanging our club banner, and surrounding the whole with a white picket fence. We brought in 35 models from a 1/3 scale Sopwith Pup to an 8 ounce electric park flyer, and we were busy all day with inquiries, spell bound youngsters, and handing out information sheets.
Late in the day a polite, serious, about 7 year old boy, edged forward to my post, and after asking some questions with obvious excitement and interest floored me with a question straight out of that world where only children may live. "Sir" he said ,"may I have your autograph?".Suddenly all the crap of March was worth it........

earthquakes.........but today there are more people in the way.

I would have loved to have seen that

As he and his Mom passed my table, I was packing up. He wanted to know why I was packing up and I told him we had to go.
He asked me if if we'd be back tomorrow and I told him no we wouldn't.
Then he asked me "why not" and his mother explained it only was for one day.

He sure was polite but he didn't ask for MY autograph

I got out today to do some racing with our 1/10 electric cars. A track was set up in the gym with the boy-scouts doing their own little hill racers. We put on a noontime show for them. Some little 5 yr old was hanging around so I gave him a few laps, I think it made his day!
Took the sting out of the -13 were supposed to get tonite, maybe the lake surface will refreeze for retracts!!
