One thing you might want to think about. Where do you throw out those old razor blades and exacto blades. I used to sort of wrap them up in some paper, put them loose inside a box or what ever happen to be in the garbage at the moment. Carrying out the garbage bag I felt a tug on my pant leg and upon inspection found a very neat slice in my pants where the bag had brushed my leg. In the summer wearing shorts or if it had come up hard on my leg I might have ended up with a nasty cut. Same could happen to someone handling my garbage.

I made a sharps container from an empty coffee can and cut a slot in the lid. Now anything sharp goes in that container and I dispose of container and all when necessary. You could put a slice in an old fuel jug with the lid on and do the same.

Now I no longer worry about myself or someone else getting hurt handling my garbage.

Good tip Dennis.
I put my razor blades and used #11 blades in a small jar or can and I also poor in any left over amounts of epoxy that hasn't hardened yet. I just keep adding blades and left over bits of epoxy until it's full then I toss it.
Even less chance of someone getting cut when the used blades are encased in epoxy.

Good ideas guys. I place mine in an old tupperware juice contained. Throwing in left over epoxy is not a bad idea.

Same as Derrick...except I use one of those orange containers that some CA used to come in...dump in the old blades and excess epoxy, micro balloons, etc until it is full. Even though we throw stuff in the trash, it is not out of sight-out of mind. I don't want anyone getting injured by stuff that I discard....not just the sanitation workers, but any animals or people that may come across it even years from now........

A great topic, Dennis.....

For most blades, I put them in old 35mm film containers.
Larger blades get a thorough wrap of pvc electrician tape.

I bought a package of some #11 blades and they came in this nifty little black box. You pull out a new blade and it is spring loaded so another bade is pushed to the top ready to pull out. On the other side of the box is a little slot for you to put in used blades. Once you push it in it is almost impossible to get it out unless the box is broken.
