I am fine with regulations, but I don't want to be regulated to the point that I have to fly at a club, carry MAAC, have a spotter blah blah blah

I fly responsibly, I don't fly over or near private property, and I follow the laws.
I second this! I'm new to Drones, but some of these idiots are going to ruin it for all of us

Oh Christ, another irresponsible idiot with a store-bought quad.......this video breaks every rule in the RC hobby book, both moral and regulatory.......It has everything you could want in a rogue RC pilot! Flying too close to buildings & airports, flying over busy highways & name it! I want to body-check him so hard you have no idea.......

Re: Another UAV incident!, this time in Toronto!!

Everyone has to accept responsibility for our hobby, unfortunately the multirotors are mainstream and with the smartphone/tablet interfaces, truly a consumer product. It does not make sense to remove them from Maac as true RC pilots that belong to Maac are going to stay within the rules and the people buying planes and MR's at retailers will not join MAAC either. A better approach would be to advertise maac membership at the retailers selling the aircraft. This is similar to the debate over firearms the issue is not the people who work within the system it is those that choose to ignore the system that are the issue

The issue the way I see it , is more like what the non RC public perceives us to appear like , when something goes wrong. If and when a non club/non MAAC member does his own thing and the heavier than air machine gets away on its own and if found and when ; whether it causes damage or otherwise ; the public perceives all flyers to be cut from the same cloth. It publicly puts pressure on organized clubs and MAAC
