I am a true noob to JR stuff and I got JR radio in a packaged deal! From a man who could not fly RC airplanes because of a nerve problem so he was selling all his equipment! I just now when to program another airplane into the radio but going and doing exactly what the manuel said I could not come across MDL in the mode screen! And the throttle stick does barely click it is very smooth so I think it's on Heli mode so I go to change the mode but I can't find in the mode screen TYP to change the mode of the radio from Heli to Air or Air to Heli :S Any help is greatly appreciated! The Radio is a XP642!

I dont think they made a dedicated heli version of the 600 series radios...the ratchet may have loosened (I believe they may be adjustable, but it has been awhile)

There are 2 programming change aircraft type, wing type, and model you have to push down the two buttons, then turn the transmitter on. Once you are in the menu you can scroll around and change anything you want....

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you will have to catch up.

Next time try to find a package deal with an Airtronics RD 8000 in it.
DX18 Stealth, H9 Inversa 33, H9 33% Edge, H9 33% Decathlon.

I couldn't find an online manual for the 642 (it's a bit old) but, the 662 (I think is the replacement for the 652 that replaced the 642) should be quite similar (just fewer options/memory)... here's the manual:

I've set up a few 642s, nice radio, should serve you well. Enjoy!
