Hi guys; I saw a guy at the field today with a JR radio, but on the top he had a black flexible antenna on it, I have only seen these on the different web-sites, are they a better antenna, or is just a cosmetic attatchment, ? Is there any advantage to these type of antennas? It sure looked different, anyways, if anybody knows anything about these, I weould really limke to hear about them, thank you.... Joey....

I have been using the JR base loaded antenna for about 8 years now, I have an adapter for both my 8103 and 783, never a glitch or a problem. Al you have to do is unscrew your antena and scerw in the adapter. Your bases loaded antena screws into that.

I too liked the Rubber Antenna's................
Unfortunately unless the manufacturer of the Radio provides the rubber Antenna they go against MAAC................. I believe JR has the proper licensing on one or two of it's models to do this..........I believe they are the only ones.....................
The rubber Antenna is great for many reasons..... but you do suffer around a 20% signal loss.................. for most, not an issue......
