Canadian source for 1300mAh 3S 45C and 75C LiPo

I have no idea if these are any good, but for $27Can it might be worth trying. It is a Toronto area shop with reasonable shipping to the rest of Canada:

http://www.nghobbies.com/cart/index....oducts_id=1231

If it delivers near 45C, the price isn't too bad. 121g, about 25 more than I'd like though

Gensace makes a 800mAh 45C Tattu battery, but they don't have it on their site. I would need a 75C battery at that capacity anyway.

Hey Kevin I may pop by there and get one to test.

By the way the Hyperion 1100 are good to 45A or so, so they hold up to 45c, at higher loads they start dropping. Still not bad.

Re: Canadian source for 1300mAh 3S 45C and 75C LiPo

The shipping on the Hyperions is expensive enough that it only makes sense for 6 or more like you ordered. The weight of the 1100 is nice. It sounds like it might be a bit marginal for a 4m glider?

I've got quite few Nanotechs. The 45C 1300mAh 3S is alright for 45A or so, just heavier than my gliders need up front.

After my Maxa experience, I don't think I'll use anything less than 1000mAh with today's technology, at least if it is supplying the airborne power as well. Adding an airborne battery is far heavier than just using a 1000+mAh battery with a small back-up. Now that I've been burned, I'd likely want two independent power sources no matter what so I'd have a back-up anyway.

I wonder if the shipping price is correct from NG Hobbies, since I don't think Canada Post allows any separate lithium batteries at all?

Still looking for that perfect 100g, 500W battery that doesn't cost a small fortune in Canada.

Kevin

Edit: Canada Post will still take lithium batteries for domestic ground transport only. They need the official warning label, and the maximum for a package is 100Wh (= V x Ah). For a 3S, 11.1V battery, that would be about 9Ah in a package.

Edit again!: This place in Toronto also has the Tattu 45 and 75C 1300mAh LiPos, as well as Nanotech 45C:

Maybe this FPV racing thing is good for us too!

I bought 1500 40C/60C LionPower batteries on ebay per $16 each shipped )) Have tried them just once recently but first impression is not bad. Weight is 105g, actual capacity is 1390mA measured.

That looks good Alex!

105g would be great if it can put out 45A, especially for that price.

I suspect the free shipping will only last until one of the postal services realizes there are LiPos in the package, then it will be Fedex like all the other battery shops.

Kevin
Chinese ebay sellers still shipping lipo by regular mail. About amps: I measured 44A with my Hyperion 3019 (42-43A with 850mA TP)

Something is not right, I am pulling 60A on 16x8 Aeronaut with 1300ma 70c Thunder power on the same motor.

I will try the Hyperion battery (1100 45-90c) and see how much it will drop, on 15x8 Aeronaut it is definitely 5A lower, more than 1 volt lower, giving almost 100watt less power than 1300 70c (50A on this prop)
