Glad to hear the engine is running well again!

Just curious, are you using an afterun oil when you are finished flying for the day?

If so, great, ignore the rest of this message.

If not, I recommend that you start doing so, as it will greatly help in preventing bearings from rusting. My favourite is Canadian Tire Air Tool Oil. When I'm finished for the day, I empty the fuel tank, disconnect the fuel line from the engine, run the engine wide open with the glow igniter on to burn any remaining fuel in the engine, remove the glow igniter, put 5 or 6 drops of oil down the open carb, close the carb, and turn the engine over a few times. I do this with all my glow engines and in 13 years, have only replaced bearings on an engine once. And that was on a ducted fan engine that ate part of the bearing race.

Hope this helps,

Glad to here you are up and running. The airtool oil reccomended by Jim is a wise investment. I carry a little squeeze bottle with about 2 oz. in my flight box. Also if you park it for awhile take the back plate off and take a look and also oil it. This makes sure the brg.s are lubed.

I will kept that in mind next ime I need a new bottle of after run but I just bought another bottle of hobbico afterrun oil. I always use it when I'm finished flying for the day.
