So you are looking at about 13 grand (canadian) for a ready to fly sport scheme with engine, not including servos.receiver.

I am sure its a nice bird, but wow - that is a lot of cash-o-la!

If you did the building on your bigbird i dont see why you cannot built almost any jets since they came with fiber fuse. You probably had some experience with foam wings (most jet kits) so there is no prob.

The only thing is the 'plumbing' wich is a little more complexe than a big gaz bird but anyway when you got the engine there is drawing and explaination about plumbing. The full autostart engine are only 'push a button' away from starting so no prob. there too

Flying it is another thing. First of all : the speed! They are pretty fast and the second thing that is important, more important than engine lag is the fact that you dont have ANY wind on the surface when you are slow. With a prop plane the p^rop put some wind on the control surface that help allot.

I did about the same road as you. i flew big gazer AND very, very fast prop plane (DiamondDust and Whiplash) before getting to jet. i skipped DuctedFan too, like i said the biggest thing i have to deal with is the lack of control at slow speed( remember, no prop! )

I have a Stingray, it's a sport jet and not a trainer. I should bought a different plane as a first turbine but it look soooo Sexy...
Sorry for my bad english

My bigger aircraft have been built for me. I was fortunate enough to find an excellent builder a number of years ago, an since that time he has built all my airplanes. The problem is he only does large aerobatic aircraft. No fighters, jet or fiberglass.

I even struggle these days to put an arf together.

King Cat prices

I'm sure that the King cat is an excellent jet, and I wish I had that kind of money to spend on one aircraft. I'm sure that we will see many of them on the jet circuit. I also think that for the price, the skymaster F-15 is also an excellent deal. You get an F-15 ARF for nearly the price of an Avonds F-15 KIT!! Looks sweet to me, I'm sure there will also be many of the Sky master F-15's on the JET rallys'
Here is a link to skymaster.

Yep Skymaster are the latest ARF company to come onto the jet scene. I have had my eye on their new ARF F18 its a mid size model, bit smaller than the big Yellow twin....perfect for a 20-30 pound thrust turbines. A lot of companys local and International are now looking to Asia to produce especially ARF kits. I heard a rumour the BVM KingCat was being produced overseas also...not sure but that would not surprise me! its just another sign of the times I guess as more people expect to see ARF style models at close to normal kit prices less local kit companys can compete with Asias lower labour costs.
Another example is a new ARF company- Composite ARF from Hong Kong, there range includes many of the models previously sold only via Fiber Classics e.g. MIG 29, MIG15, Roo, Rookie, Eurosport to name a few, and the prices are coming down too (a lot) nows the time to by a Roo or Rookie for sure...or the brilliant MIG 29 for that matter
