Old Time Radio - Looking for info

My Dad came back from his Saturday "garage saling" with yet another gadget.
This time he got an MRC Guidance System 4000 with 4 MR-62 servos, receiver, charger and batteryback, all in the original styrofoam with a good switch extra servo arms.
The channel is 22.5 (72.240). Anyway I put it on the charger overnight and plugged in everything to the receiver. Amazingly it all worked great.
The charger for the radio looks like a buddy box connector on the front face.
Just curious, I emailed MRC to see if they had any info on this system.
Anyone out there know anything about it? Obviously it can't be used at the field due to the frequency and probably wide band but it might have applications in the park flier arena.
Just thought I'd check to see if anyone knew of a place to get documentation. Searching the web came up empty.
