Hitec cheapies....

I had a new Hitec standard servo start to act funny before the plane even left the ground, I took it apart and found a cold solder joint. I resoldered and it was ok after but I won't be buying any more Hitec servos! I have about 2 dozen Futaba servos and not 1 of them has failed,

Fastsky, thats like condeming a whole race of people because one person did something bad to you. I have used Hitec radios and servos for years and have never had one fail and even so with millions made someone is bound to have a problem somewhere down the line.

A good friend of mine bought a top of the line Futaba radio and paid almost $1000 for it and ALL the pins where TX crystal module plugs in were loose. He almost lost a plane because of it. He took it apart and soldered the connections and still uses the radio and STILL swears by Futaba. A lot of people here use Hitec servos and I wouldn't condem the whole line of products just cause you got a bad one on a cheepie servo at that. Now thats just my Humble Opinion. Thanks.

Yes Gary I agree. After using hundreds of servos I have had some fail from allmost all brands (Futaba, Airtronics, JR, Hitec, Hobbico, MUltiplex and even a Kraft, my first radio )

Nothing electromechanical in nature is 100% perfect, every company has its failure rates...

I still use all brands (but like Hitec for the value) and will continue to do so.

Thats just my opinion!
