What I do...
Mechanical Engineer, currently working as a software programmer/designer, RCCanada administrator.....and T/Golf shirt salesman.

What I would different.
Can't say as I'd change a thing...is being born into a ridiculously wealthy family an option?

I'm a retired Bell Canada Tech, and now run a small home business installing satellite receiver systems, small telephone and home automation systems, and the occasional off air antenna systems. I also build approximately 200 bird houses every year for a pal who sell Home security systems.

The only thing I would change is my relationship with the two guys in the attached picture. They have been a terrible influence this year.

Right now, im a Grade 12 student. After high school I know what I want to do, but Im not too sure on how I will get there. My life long goal is to become a pilot. I have been taking flying lessons this year and should have my PPL late september or early october. Afterwords, I am going to apply for the airforce and see if that goes anywhere, and if not, probably go in the private route and take a 2 year aviation course at the local college to get my commercial license and an aviation certificate. And eventually, I may end up getting a degree in aeronautical engineering.

Years, to old to count I had a good career, 14 years Armed Forces(all over the place) 20 years as Shop Supervisor for the County of Vulcan and then 5 years as foreman for Speady Heavy Hauling now Cage Transport. Now laid off and on WCB for a wrecked shoulder. Also married for 38 years with 2 kids(boy and girl) and 2 granddaughters and 1 on the way. In the meantime I had 25 years on the Ambulance as an EMT which started out volunteer.
Would I change, not much I wish I had more to do with my kids when they where growing up. But I am making up for it with the grandkids.
Trades are lots with the Military, mostly Armored and I have a HD mech and Automotive ticket. I also have an EMT diploma.
Yes Andrew I am way older than you , but I still like to have fun and work at my hobby.
John Does that answer the question

For the most part I was an Industreal and Mining Maintenance Mechanic all my life. I was the relief forman underground at the now defunct Kerr Addison Gold Mines in Verginatown, Ontario. ( 45 km east of Kirkland Lake ) There I was also the vice Captain of the Kerr Mine Rescue competition team and a member of the V-town Emergency Response Team. From there I became the Forman at a truck trailer Mfg place in Ancaster Ontario retrofitting flat bed truck trailers into a full covered curtain sided trailers. In 1989 I was forced into retirement due to a spinal injury and now have to spend most of my time building and flying model planes. Hey...someones gotta do it....LOL. Three years ago I got my Private Pilots Liscense with the help of my son who is a full commercial pilot. Depite the injury I have a lot to be thankful for with lots and lots of good friends in the hobby and a great supportive family.

What would I have done different....hey I wouldn't have missed any of it for the world!
