Re: Gaui X3

Was home for the evening so I got the tail installed. Found out that they don't provide for mounting a micro tail servo I have a DS95i that I was going to use... I do have a savox mini that will work, so I guess I'll try that. Lots more torqe, but half the speed & 10g more wieght.

Also discovered that I got shorted on a couple M2x4 fastners for the motor plate, looks like I may have a couple in the "spare parts" package, I'll check tonight.

Hoping to maiden on Monday since I'm working until then, & I will post video

Re: Gaui X3

The tail servo I had planned originally was even smaller. I managed to get this Hitec 5084 mounted....seems to be working good

As for video, seeing as I fly alone it's kinda hard. I'll bribe one of my girls to get on the camera

Re: Gaui X3

OK ya I see now I can mount it on the other side, but apparently there is some flex with that mount so I may look at making a stiffer mount or ordering one from this guy is also an option.

Re: Gaui X3

I'm afraid this Savox 1250mg may be a bit too slow

Re: Gaui X3

I have a broken frame from a 550, I think I'll cut out a mount from that.

Got the pinion today, so motor is installed.

Back to work til Sunday night
