No big plans for me this winter. All I am going to do is recover my supersportster, and maybe try to make a fibreglass cowl for it. Then finish building a spad.

Winter builds

I have started a HOB T-6 Texan, and I hope to refinish a Ziroli T-6 that I acquired some time ago. Then I'll have a baby Harvard and a mommy Harvard! I'll also be building a Great Planes PT-40 with a group of my students at school after Christmas

I plan on painting a 120" Kawanishi H8K flying boat like the one here:

Have to get a couple of steps out of the way first though, like drawing the plans and building it! Planned power is 4 x OS52s with a target weight of 30 pounds.
Here are some 3 views although I have just gotten the Aero Detail book on it and it has some better ones along with all sorts of details. What tremendous books they are.

Hello from Orangeville
I thinking about building my Sterling Reliant or buy a Skyraider kit from Skyshark thats lazer cut. To day I looked at all that crush cut balsa . Did you build your kit and have you flown yours yet. Found one on a web site and they guy said it flew great. Love to know how it went and if you still have it, love to see it. I a member of the Guelph Gremlins.

Looks like a good kit...can't wait to see it fly. What motor are you going to get for it?

Still haven't decided. Either the FA100 (same as you) or the RCV 90. I like the rcv but am hesitant because of the fuel issues (lack of recommended mix). Paul P also mentioned when he was at the London swap meet, someone there was selling THREE RCV's (used). He had to wonder why the guy was trying to get rid of three of them. One would be ok because he might have been moving to a different type of flying, but three?

I just don't know yet.

Also, I'd like Sierra to get something done in the manufacturing end re: retracts. It's been a while since anything has been heard from their end.
