In recent times I've had a pair of OS .46 FX's, several OS .46 SF's, five TT .46 Pro's, one GMS .47, one Tower .46, one MECOA .46 Tomcat & one LEO .46 Pro.

The TT's & the FX's were dead even in output, with the TT's having advantages in price & ease of tuning (absolutely marvelous engines). One of the FX's peeled its liner & the other was sold before it had a chance to do the same. I still have all five TT Pro's.

The SF's, the MECOA & the LEO were essentially identical in performance & and ease of tuning (very good), but again, one of the OS SF's peeled its liner & its brothers were sold. I still have the MECOA and the LEO.

The GMS & Tower are total junk in comparison to any of the above engines. Neither could reliably match the TT or FX engines for power -- they could be briefly peaked to match the TT/FX, but their ability to hold a tune is so woefull that they had to be richened up excessively to prevent in-flight flameouts, thus making the usefull power rather mediocre.

Both the GMS & Tower were harder to start, much harder to tune reliably & flamed out repeatedly. The GMS is gone, but I still have its evil twin, the Tower 46, for high-risk flying -- I really don't care if it gets trashed.
