Hobby King Turnigy 302 Gyro Setup

Trying to setup this gyro for use on a aircraft rudder to facilitate a good take off without the aircraft heading towards the edge of the runway on takeoff
The problem I appear to have is that when I set it up as per the instructions and I use the mix switch on my JR xp9303 to turn it off and on to heading lock the rudder stick has full travel and the rudder moves to counteract any deviation from a straight run- which it is supposed to do
However when I select the switch to the other position I hardly have any travel on the rudder at all and no correction for going off course. I expected no correction , however I thought I would still have full rudder movement
The rudder travel with the switch in this position is only about 20% of full travel when moving the rudder stick full travel either side
Any suggestions

Re: Hobby King Turnigy 302 Gyro Setup

I only activate the gyro in flight. The actions of the plane in the ground seem more attuned to a ton of factors ... just don't trust the gyro to make what should be my decision.

Once in the air, the gyro responds gently and makes responding to higher level wind a piece of cake. I will land with the gyro on, but tend to throw the switch to off once I cut the throttle.

Throttle management gets me out of more problems than the gyro does!

Just my experience.
