Think twice before ordering from Europe

3 weeks ago I ordered a cowl for my Hangar 9 RV8 from a reputable hobby store in England.

There has been NO news on my shipment even though monies were taken out from my Paypal A/C upon ordering.

After 10 days, I started to get impatient. Since then sent several e-mails to the hobby store for information on my shipment.

Still of no avail until this morning I received a notification from Paypal on a refund to my Credit Card. The reason being there has been a problem with the computer inventory system and the item is not available. Even though at the time when I ordered a confirmation was e-mail to me.

I guess no more next time. Ordering from Europe?

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

That could have happened here or anywhere Richard, not just the UK.

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

What does that have to do with Europe?

Could happen at any mail-order business.

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

This is the second time it happened to me.
Both incidents are related to ordering from U.K.

The first one was order for some bearings. It took an exceedingly
length of time to track and receive my shipment.

I hope it is just a coincident.

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

Have to agree with others. I have had multi orders from the UK processed quickly and reasonably shipped.
Stuff happens.

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

Me too. Have bought in the past and got every shipment with reasonable mailing costs. maybe next time email and make sure in stock. Unless the store has huge inventories this can happen especially the oddball stuff.

Re: Think twice before ordering from Europe

Well, I just ordered a torque tube conversion for an X-Cell 60 out of Denmark. There was a glitch in the order and it never sent me a confirmation. I sent them an e-mail yesterday and he replied today that he did receive the order and that it would be going out Monday morning. We'll see how that goes.

At last I am hearing from someone in the same tone.

Thanks,
