Dave, did you buy the lights in a kit or are you doing putting something together yourself?

Kit. Specifically for the TF Cessna 182, got it on E-Bay, pretty sure it was Omni Models.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Making good progress on the Cessna 182, Leeann Lagace continued with prep work for the interior last night, while I cursed a whole lot getting the rudder, elevator, nose wheel steering and throttle servos all hooked up, but it's done. All three batteries, for receiver, nav lights, and landing lights are done, landing lights installed, receiver is hooked up. Did some epoxy fillets all around the wing saddle. Tonight, should be able to get the throws and rates all set for the servos, and test all the lights. fuel system is in, just need to install the remote fuelling valve. Our one big holdup will be the exhaust manifold for the Saito 100, the one we have is a 15 degree about 1 1/2 in manifold. We either need a shorter straight manifold, or one that's 30 - 45 degrees, to avoid having to cut into the cowl. Once we get our hands on that, we'll just have the interior to install, along with the windows.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Got a shot of the flashing tail strobe and landing lights. We're near the end, but Leeann's in charge, and she's got some work to do on the interior, plus more striping to do on the fuselage, but probably will be near end of May into early June. We'll certainly get some shots and video of her flying.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Thanks, from both of us. Leeann is going to start taping for the next bit of paintwork tomorrow.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Today Leeann is working on all the bits of touch-up, trim, paint on the horizontal stab outer edges, and the wing tips. Soon as that's all done, we can install the interior, get that fixed into place, and start installing the seats, instrument panel, control yokes, and eventually the crew. Then it's windows, and I think that's it!

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

All paintwork is done! We'll let things dry tonight, then tomorrow, a clearcoat. I need to set up the flap and aileron servos, then mount the wing struts, after that, the wing can find a home in the trailer, and we can finish the fuse.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Good progress on Leeann Lagace's Cessna 182, cockpit and instrument panel in, windows in, cowl is attached, and aligned to the spinner. Just need to install screws on the tail cone, then check aileron and flap servos, balance, and hope we can find the right muffler, and prop hub extension, then she's ready to test fly.
