Silver and Metallic Charcoal is now on one side of the tail. Working on the instrument panel now, while Leeann is doing interior paintwork.

Liking the tail colours & that dash panel is impressive. Well done.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Metallic Burgundy on the fuselage is done! We put the gear back on, and the engine, and she'll sit and dry overnight. Still some sliver and metallic charcoal trim up front to go, but it covers really well, and is a cinch to do compared to the Burgundy.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

Wicked colours. What are you going to do on the interior that is not covered with plastic, upper door posts.

Ideas for paints that don't sink in too much.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

We have the full scale interior for it, it covers all the vertical posts. Leeann painted it all up, installed nice carpet, did some fabric piping trim on the seats, and did a crochet net for the cargo compartment! We use tole paints a lot, my P-39 is all done with cheap tole paints, airbrushed. Then a coat of America matte clear, and it's then fuel proof! This thing will be fully kitted out, including insanely bright tail strobe, nav lights, and dual landing lights.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

ARF interior leaves some coverage out.

I have a kit in the box like that.

I won't crack it open to shine up an ARF.

Re: Top Flite Cessna 182

No, certainly wouldn't be worth it. Tole paints and a brush will do wonders, for sure. Funny how so many of the ARF parts are superior to the kit parts, yet they're still lacking in some obvious detail. Think Top Flite needs to hire me as a QC guy, test builder, and test pilot. I'd make the sacrifice for the greater good of the hobby! lol
