One day as I headed out to fly it was pretty sunny so I wore my Rx polaroid sunglasses. It clouded over and with very flat light as my plane dropped down below the tree line on final approach I completely lost sight of it. I pulled elevator, went around for another try and the same thing happened. I finally got one of the other guys to land it. Couldn't just take them off as I need them to see. I was a little concerned about this so made up a pr. of lenses with a soft yellow tint. What a difference it makes in the visibility of the plane , couldn't believe I never thought of it before. I now wear them whenever i'm flying. Our field is set up so that the sun is always behind us (or should be) so no problem with increased light transmission they provide. You wouldn't want to wear this type of tint facing into the sun. Give it a try, I'm sure you will be happily surprised. 8 FWIW)

Rapalla makes two kinds of glasses.....one for overcast cloudy conditions and another for glare and sunshine.... I use them and find they are very effective. especially today.....yep, 15 degrees with sun and cloud.
Had a maiden flight on my new profile plane...wow what a blast.
Don't use my new eyeglasses at the field anymore...just an old pair.
A point to ponder though....to some ppl... regardless of eyeglasses or sunshades......when the plane comes in for final approach and have trees for background, they can't see diddley.....for some, approaching low over a field also have the same effect... maybe you are coming to that stage.
For me....when I study late at nights....I completely miss the 200x300 flying field......haha... and land in the bush.....then stand there like an idiot
