It would be sweet to have a contest at Stoney Creek again. Being that was the location that I decided to try my first contest and got me hooked on imac

Bill,

Working on it but would definitely need help as we are now a club of only about 18 members.

Next club meeting is in November and I'll bring it up then.

When are US Nats and Mid-Michigan contests?

For this to really work shouldn't there be an odd number of contests like 5 instead of '4'?

Re: America's Cup 2016

Jim - thanks for considering it. I will certainly help or co-CD if you wish.

I am checking with Mike Karnes re the US Nats. I think they will be the first week in July. I have them down as July 4-7. There had been a discussion on the old web site re dates and originally a June date had been mentioned. But there was some push back and then I saw an early July date. Just need to confirm with Mike.

Re Jackson, I have exchanged messages with Mr R and he has his hands full with his mom in the hospital. She is in her 90's so Mike is not sure where that is going. He assures me he will sort out a Jackson date as soon as the hospital situation is not occupying his time. He says expect a July date comparable to last year so likely July 16-17, to be confirmed.

Re: America's Cup 2016

Mike Karnes has advised that the US Nats is not officially scheduled yet by AMA but he is hoping for July 5-8 (that would be Tuesday to Friday). I had it as July 4-7 (Monday to Thursday) which would mirror last year in terms of days of the week.

In any case we will assume for the time being that the US Nats is the first week in July. Our US friends avoid scheduling contests the weekend before or weekend after the Nats, however that rule is less true for Canadian events. We should avoid those weekends if we can.

Would love to Adam but we have run into a couple of road blocks in the last couple years. From my own perspective I see a real need for a proper location to facilitate contests in our area.

Re: America's Cup 2016

OK Flying Tigers are on-board for another IMAC Contest for 2016 so if you want we can make it prt of the America's Cup Series.

Correct me if I'm wrong though..... Shouldn't this have an odd number of contests so there can't be a tie?

OK now we have to pick a date!

Re: America's Cup 2016

Hey Jim - that's good news. Appreciate your efforts and we need to get on board to help you.

Re the odd vs even number I don't think it really matters. We should just be thankful that more of our US colleagues did not make the trip to SSM or they would have won both contests. But for a first year having 3 of them come up was great and hopefully the word will spread. After all Mike R intended to come, and if Jeff S had not taken the gear off his Carden in Jackson he would have come up with Rob.

In any case whether it is 4 or 5 I don't think matters. We launched this with two contests this year and it will be great to grow it to 4 contests next year.

Cayuga is easily accessible for the US guys via 401/403 and you have the room for overnight campers.

Now we just need to work on dates. We have to stay away from the weekends before and after the US Nats. Need to study the calendar and see what the options are.

Re: America's Cup 2016

Guys - just a brief update, we now have 4 contests lined up for 2016 to be part of the America's Cup.

June 4 & 5 Saranac, Michigan
June 18th Woodstock, Ontario
July 16 & 17 Jackson, Michigan
July 30 & 31 Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Thanks to Steve and the Club Directors for volunteering Woodstock to be part of this year's events, and of course to Craig for his continuing to support the Cup series. Mike Roxberry just confirmed this week that Jackson is "in" also.

Please come out and support as many of these events as you can. More info will be posted soon, as well as a flyer that will be produced by Dave Walter and Chuck Rencurrel in the coming months.

Re: America's Cup 2016

The summer is shaping up to be great.
Good to have Woodstock on board for the second Canadian event. Now to get enough folks to each of the challenge events to make it truly challenging.
