I'm totally new to electrics but I was told this combo would work. I bought an AXI4120/14 brushless motor and two of these packs B1700C8 8 Cell CP-1700SCR NiCad from Hobby Lobby. I have a Phoenix 45 controller also. Unfortunately I had already built the Seamaster before I decided to electrify it. I did chicken out on modifying the packs and dremeled out part of one of the plywood formers to fit a pack in the fuse. The other pack will go in the front hatch, I'll just have to pack lots of foam in to keep it in place. I put everything in the plane to check c of g and the weight. It is 7.5 lbs which is 1/2 lb less than my Seamaster with a Saito 65 4 stroke. I hope to test fly it this winter off the snow. If I have a problem I'm thinking better over snow than open water!?
Experience is the name we give to our mistakes.
