Very nice guys
A plaque would be great! Something I would never have thought of.

Afternoon All

Our club, Rideau R/C Flyers, presents an Outstanding Service Plaque to those members who put in 25 hours of work or service for the club. For some it may take multiple years to earn. A distinctive disk is also provided so that it can be mounted on the member's nametag. A few members put in 25+ hours each year. A bar provided for their plaque, for each additional 25 hours. These awards are given at our annual AGM and banquet. Members are requested to record their work hours in a log in which we also record our flights, frequency, engine size and period of time flying at the field. Some don't record their hours of work or service but I keep a close watch, as does the President.

We hire a contractor to cut our flying field and the surrounding area.

We are in the process of adding an 80 feet extension to our existing asphalt runway. A further extension of 23 feet by 20 feet tit is also being added for winds from that direction. Club members individually have been asked to donate $100.00 for this project. So far, two thirds of the members have shown their support. We will put up a plaque with their names on it in the clubhouse.

Thats something we have done at the Brant Flyer's RC for a number of years now. Several years ago, a trophy was donated in honor of one of the founding members of the club and each year it is presented to one person who as the inscription on the tropy says for: "Outstanding Sportsmanship both on the ground and in the air!" A tag is put on the trophy with the person's name and he receives a plaque as well to keep in rememberance of the occasion.

As well this year at our annual Christmas dinner, special plaques were presented as "Awards of Merit" to individuals who went above and beyond the call of duty in their support and hard work on behalf of the club.

Recognition in this way really does help give incentive for all to do their share and its something for the reciepents and the club to be very proud of.

Good ideas, guys!

There are a few in our club who would need a wheelbarrow to carry around their awards. Brian G. Brian F. Henry H. Darlene W. come to mind.
I'm sure there are others, but these are the folks that seem to do everything for the club, and work tirelessly to make it better.
