I am just reading about this (I dont fly IMAC, but I find the rules between pattern and IMAC fairly similar) and from what I gather it will allow a flier to place a manuver anywhere in the box without penalty?

I understand the idea behind this is to reduce the volume of airspace taken up during a sequence......wont just placing hard and fast distance limits on the sequence accomplish that? Since the FAI placed strict downgrades in pattern on anyone flying beyond 175 meters the flying has went from the traditional high speed far out style to a much closer, quieter, slower style that occupies less space. Can the same thing not be done for IMAC?

I just think judging this with different fliers putting maneouvers in different locations would be a real nightmare for getting any consistency, unless you completely ignore the placement of all maneouvers.

Also if you still have the same box size it seems logical to me that a majority of people will continue to use as much space as possible to give themselves the maximum amount of time between each maneouver to setup for the next.

Is this rule going to improve things or not? I hope no one trys this out in would be chaos to our disciplined way of life

Its always hard to try to teach an old dog some new tricks Chad....

Oh...but wait... I think Im actually older than you are!

The idea is to make the overall footprint smaller. I believe it will once people give it a chance and try it out. If your still coming to the seminar next month, this would be an excellent opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

BTW... When are you going to build an IMAC plane??

Hi Mike

I have my flights booked to make it down to the forum, will be staying with Harry for a few extra days to help him get some ambition to finish his projects I am sure there will be lots of discussion about the zoneless box at the forum.

IMAC plane.....mmmm......there just is no competition out this way yet. Some guys have tried to get something going but it never seems to get momentum. Maybe someday......
