Hummingbird main blades need balancing

My fine wife bought me a Hummingbird for Xmas . I got it all ready to go but by the time I get enough rpm's up to almost lift off it starts shaking bad and I have to shut it down. This is my first heli so I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do next. I did notice that one of the blades was a lot tighter where it attaches to the hub so I loosened it a bit. I know that they are suppose to be loose enough to self centre from inertia but how loose should they be?
Experience is the name we give to our mistakes.

Afternoon Bill

Tried my new GWS Dragonfly. One blade was loose. I thighen it up and now it spins up and down smoothly. Set them snug so that they don't flop around.

Hi Don,
is the Dragonfly the GWS version of the HUmmingbird?
They appear to be identical. I'm guessing that GWS makes the hummingbird for Century... can you confirm?

Morning Jason

"We", here in the QFO (Quiet Flyers Ottawa), believe that the Century Hummingbird and the GWS Dragonfly are virtually the same but who is the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) or are there two is still the question. I will ask Phil Noel the Canadian Century rep.

In the last 3 weeks with our indoor electric flying I have seen 3 different versions of the Dragonfly. One was purchased in Hong Kong, one on ebay and mine from the LHS. Now I am looking at the 2004 version of the Dragonfly and Hornet II.

For further info on QFO try:

The Rideau Ottawa Indoor Electric Flyers are hosted by the Rideau R/C Flyers Club (R R/C F) for MAAC Insurance but is open to all MAAC members.

The Ottawa Indoor Free Flight, a independent group, permit some R/C electrics, no IFOs but very small scale.
