I have the CSM version 10 R/C flight simulator which claims to be the
most technically closest to the "real" r/c aircraft. It has both fixed wing &
rotary wing included. The sound is brutal you can shut it off and the graphics are pretty basic. The feel is what counts and it is great. You can also use your own radio. This saved me much time as I learned how to program my heli computer radio on the sim. You can also put in your heli specs , which I did and think that it is pretty darn close. I have a Shuttle ZX .30 size engine.
I would have to say it might be more difficult to fly than the actual r/c aircraft. At least that is what I noticed for the helicopter. After one winter of sim time I was able to fly my heli . First flight I did square circuits , pirouette on the second flight. On the 4th flight I got too far away and landed hard in long grass with a resulting boom strike.
