I have 2 things in my shop playing. One is the baby monitor. As my shop is not attached to the house and I'm mostly a stay at home dad. I'm guaranteed 2-21/2 hrs a day 5 days a week me time when my daughters asleep. I also listen MOJO 640, Talk radio for guy's.

I'm almost in total agreement with JimMcIntyre. Good rock blues, Joe Satriani, Dire Straights, Rush, G3 and my personal favorite, Blue Oyster Cult.
 When I'm feeling more mellow, I put in the soundtrack to Crouching Tiger or about anything by George Winston.

Picked up the new Aerosmith CD today, 'Honkin' on Bobo'.
It's AWESOME! Those guys just get better! I thought they were great 20 years ago, and they ain't losing it, they're getting more of it!! "Blues done Aerosmith Style." ROCK AND ROLL!!

Less talk...more rock!
Interesting thread! It was fascinating to see the diverse interests in what people listen to.
To drown out the voices in my head while i'm building I listen to Buddy Holly (that's what my dad always listened to so it brings back fond memories of building planes together), Floyd, ACDC, Seger, etc. Now and again I'll pipe the hockey game into the hanger. It just seems weird to be in there without some sort of music... Rock on!

I sing lead in a barbershop chorus and I listen and sing from my practice tapes. Old rock and roll 50 to 60 , gospel harmony, some jazz, classical, big band but hate rap. When I'am not building I beat up my guitar ,

Jim that guitar was awsome, must cost a bundle. If you heard me play and rattle the strings and choking its neck you will know talent will help. Music is such a calmer when your got the Blues or just like twanging the tunes. Got a Arris jumbo flat top 35 years old [ good friend lots of memories] and a silvertone electric that sits by my computer and gets played mostly every day. I also heard you play guitar on tape that Ron Harway sent me.
