Airtronics Vanguard compatibilty

I've been out of the hobby for a few years and find myself a bit rusty on knowledge. Got a Vanguard 6ch FM system and I want to get one of those new featherlite receivers and servos for this winter's project. Does anyone know if this old Airtronics gold stickered transmitter is positive shift like the new ones?

Yes, ALL Airtroics/JR equipment works on the same shift, and Futaba/Hitec is the opposite.

Any modern Airtronics compatible receiver will work with your Vanguard. However, the newer receivers (including Hitec) will NOT accept the old style Airtronics servo lead, withthe three raised ridges on them. They have changed to a "universal" style, like the JR or new blue Airtonics and you will have to modify the old plugs to work. Or buy new servos. You can swap the pos/neg leads and shave the raised portion to work in the new receivers.

If you have old servos and you want to go to the new "Z" end type of reciever<which I would> you can get little adapters to switch you servos over.

If you haven't used that radio for along might also thing about having it sent back to Airtronics to get checked out .. you just never no..and better to be safe then sorry

And Welcome back to the hobby
