Something extra help

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Picked up a little Sig Something Extra. Mounted my OS 46FX on her and a set of snow ski's. Figured it would be a hoot to fly over the winter. Problem, never received a manual for it so I'm hoping a few of you may have some experience with this craft. I need input for the setup
CofG, max throws etc etc........
Any help would be great!

Great Aircraft -
set the throws for all you can handle - it will take it - use your dual rate setup so you can get comfortable- same for balance point - you can work it back a bit if you're looking for more aerobatic. With skis, I would be tempted to keep it around 28% of the chord at the root.
same set up as I had - pulled the OS 46 this winter and going to Webra 50

Just some feedback, the other folks have offered the basic info but if you are starting out with this plane I would set your high rates at the low rate throws suggested and go with about 50-60 % of those for your low rates. If you follow - I am suggesting to go low rather than high on the throws. I have well over a 100 flights on my Somethin' Extra and I found the ailerons very sensitive at the rates suggested in the manual. I suggest you go easy on the throws to start with and work up to a comfortable level or dial in exponential on your transmitter (if it is expo capable)

Great plane, I have had a ball with mine over the last three years. Hope you enjoy yours also !
