Triton Charger

Was using my Triton to charge a 3300 MA NI-MH 4 cell pack.
set the charger for 5 amps but the batt. would only charge at 3A.
A 6 cell 3300 pack will charge at the full 5A. What gives?
Does the charger limit max current for lower voltage packs?

My Dymond Super Turbo does this as well, if I go to higher cell count then I can crank up the current. Seems as if there is some sort of programming in the charger to prevent very high charge rates in low cell count packs.

I belive that it is in the charger and you cant do anything about it. I have just got my triton so i am still playing with it. If you need the book or any thing copied let me know i can fax them or scan them and e-mail you.

I remember reading something about this on RCU. May want to try searching for that there.
