you should look in the the MVVS 58 I know it is only a 58cc but the power to rate ratio is awsome.
What do you mean , I can land upside down

Hi Rob,

Wondering what props and rpm's you're getting on the MVVS? Also , what exhaust system. Trying to compare it to the ZDZ 80

Here is the info i have from Dave Moen in bc, he is the distributer, but call john jeffries at triad aviation, tell him i sent you.

weighs 26.5 pounds, they are running a 26x10 Mezlik (sp) prop and a JMB cannister. The factory is afamant that the engine should be propped so that it can attain 7000-7100 rpm, so I assume that's where they are at.

I have a customer with one on a Wildhare 28% Extra (he owns Wildhare, prototype plane), running a Bisson wrap-around Pitts exhaust. This type pf exhaust is really not the way to go, swinging a 3W 24x10 Wide, he is running at about 6500-6600rpm. Still he reports that the engine has more than enough power for aggresive 3D flying, very good throttle response and one flip starts. MVVS should have a tubular header available for the engine this month, then a more efficient system can be devised for firewall-forward mounted exhaust.

Another fellow (not mu customer) has a 58 on a Wildhare Extra, he mondified the fuse so that he could install a cannister. He is able to hover his 20 pound(wet) plane at about half throttle. Here is a quote from RCU

"The mvvs58i runs great out of the box. Primes fast and starts fast and easily. It idles very slow, no crawling plane, and takes the gas without hesitation. It swings my ZingerPro24x10 very easily, and it won't be long before I try a 26x10. It literally yanks the edge off the runway, there is no take off roll, and that is at partial throttle he he. One of my friends at the field was quite impressed. Unlimited vertical at 1/3 throttle or so. If this engine shows to be as strong as the zdz80rv, it will be a great alternative at $15.00 less and lighter.

All in all a very impressive engine. I have not run one yet, they have'nt stuck around here long enough! I have a buddy that is going to strap one onto a big Cap this year and act as our demo pilot.
There is no such thing as too low
