Here in Medicine Hat we dont have a hobby shop that stocks airplane stuff but they would order it. They are mostly into cars and I always by my car stuff there. When it comes to my bigger airplane stuff I always order from hobby wholesale or great hobbies and have had good experiences with each. I think I will be sticking with hobby wholesale because there prices are great and they offer free shipping on many things with out having to spend over $100 (I usually do anyway ). They have a weekely special or something posted on the front page of their site. I bought a complete futaba skysport4 system for combat for $160!

Depending on what and where you fly, you will find that sometimes you have to get different items from different Hobby Shops and manufacturers. If you are into giant scale as I am, this will be the case. For smaller planes, you can pretty much get everything under one roof. In giant scale there are different guys and shops specializing in different items, like a guy making carbon fiber spinners, another making aluminum stand offs, another selling engines etc. The giant scale guys will know what I am talking about. We are now dealers for the DA line of engines here in Eastern Ontario (Ottawa) and are carrying mail order specialized items. We are still working on our website adding new products
By the way, the IMAC Nationals will be hosted by our club this year in Ottawa.

Pilots can be spoken of as Kings,
When they smashed their wings,
And say, "Ah ----, it's just a couple of dings."
