Good luck on the build. Looking forward to seeing your progress through to completion. The Eurofighter has been gutted and is being reassembled with all new hardware. Still trying to decide on the final paint scheme. I will post photos of the finished product.

Enjoy

Marty

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Hey Marty

I'm really happy that Typhoon went to the right person who is looking after her and will be keeping her well. She needed overhaul that she is now getting.

As for Gripen, once I get my hot wire bows back from my model production hanger /shop in Waterloo, I will then make a newer exhaust nozzle section for the Gripen and fabricate it on the fuselage.

What I need to find out is, what type of rotating retracts will work on this model as 90 rotating ones won't work for the mains.....they have to be on slight angle when folded inside the fuselage...

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Guys this Gripen is as is how I got it from Marty. It's now on selling block. Since I have no clue what these go for in kit form, I listed at $200 OBO.

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

If it's just the airframe, I think you are a little high for a 70 mm, you'd really want to have one for $200.00 plus the shipping cost. I myself am looking for a NIB Sea Vixen but they seem to be hard to find.

You could get a 80 mm setup from Motion R/C in the USA that would be easier to make fit in the airframe instead of the 90 mm. Use the inexpensive retracts you can get from Hobby King and build it as a sport jet. It would be an inexpensive build and its apparently a good flyer.

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Thanks John, price is not written in stone...lol
That's why I posted it as asking $200 OBO...interested buyer can pm me his offer n we'll go from there. As far as 90mm EDF is concerned, I have a method to modify whole tail section with a newer one made to fit 90mm in it.

Have you done any mods on the airframe yet Sam?

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Well Sam, I do like the Gripen, if it's not sold by the time of the Flying Dutchmen event on Sept 10th and 11th, I'll give ya $120.00 cash for it and will meet you at the event to pick it up, if that works for you.

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Sorry John, it's too low of an offer for a model that is almost 4 feet in length and is getting hard to comeby. Tell you what, if you want it I'll meet you in between say $150 but not less then that. I think this is fair price for a big model when it comes EDF Jets. As far as KW Scale rally goes, probably I will not be here as I will be in BC around that time.

Re: Sapac Gripen build with modifications....

Thanks for the offer Sam, that, with the cost of mailing it would put it near the $200.00 mark, not that interested. I'll pick up another F-18 from Kondor Models when I go south, they sell them in the USA for $87.22 and it's a big foamie as well.
